The present invention provides a method, a device and a system for monitoring a video of a terminal of a video conference system. The method comprises: after a multipoint conference is started successfully, a PC console receiving attribute information of a monitored terminal participating in the conference sent by an MCU; according to the attribute information of the monitored terminal, the PC console determining that the video format of an image currently sent by the monitored terminal is high definition and that the monitored terminal is not a broadcaster of the current conference or a terminal watched by a broadcaster of the current conference; the PC console instructing, through the MCU, the monitored terminal to enter a code conversion state to send the image in a standard definition video format; the monitored terminal converting the video format of the image sent therefrom into standard definition and sending the converted image to the PC console through the MCU; and the PC console decoding and displaying the received image. Through the present invention, videos of multiple high definition terminals are able to be monitored without improving the decoding capability of the PC console.
