A cable digital television system and method for performing data interaction via a radio terminal are disclosed. The system includes: a digital television receiving terminal, for receiving a playback instruction, receiving video data sent by a server, and decoding and displaying the video data; a radio transceiver module, which includes a singlechip and a Bluetooth module, wherein the singlechip is connected to the digital television receiving terminal, and the Bluetooth module is used for receiving the playback instruction, thus sending the playback instruction to the digital television receiving terminal through the singlechip; a radio equipment, connected to the Bluetooth module, for sending a service request to the server and sending the playback instruction to the Bluetooth module; and the server, for receiving the service request from the radio equipment and sending the video data which are requested to the digital television receiving terminal through a cable digital network. With the singlechip and the Bluetooth module, the system and method can realize the interaction between the digital television receiving terminal and the server, and realize a bidirectional digital television service similar to Video-On-Demand (VOD) on a unidirectional digital television receiving terminal.
