The warning device comprises a light-emitting diode (4) connected to a control circuit (5) powered by a battery (6). The light-emitting diode (4), the control circuit (5) and the battery (6) are supported on a base body (1) in the form of a cap couplable to an outer tip (21) of a valve (20) of a tyre (30). A pressure sensor (2) is placed in direct contact with the tyre inflation pressure (30), without acting on a plug (23) of the valve (20), to detect a tyre inflation pressure (30) and send a signal representing said inflation pressure to the control circuit (5), which activates the light-emitting diode (4) if the inflation pressure detected is below a predetermined threshold.
