Continuous strain measurement when testing the influence of the alkali-silica reaction on microstructural changes in concrete

The device has a sample container (100) for accommodating a sample (200). A displacement gage (300) selected from inductive, capacitive and optical displacement gages is arranged in sample container to perform length variation measurement of sample while maintaining air-conditioning in sample container to provoke alkali silica reaction of sample. A control and evaluation unit (500) is provided to receive the signals of displacement gage continually or in given time interval. An independent claim is included for sample measurement method.
