The invention relates to stomatology. The method for checking the relative position of the maxilla and mandible in patients with dysfunctions in the temporomandibular joints is characterized in that, when the position of the mandible and maxilla is fixed by an occlusion cast, a mini-implant with a head of moulded shape, which can be introduced into the patient's oral cavity, is embedded into each interdental septum of the maxilla and mandible, and a key in the form of a three-dimensionally shaped element having an internal recess duplicating the shape of the mini-implant head is mounted onto each mini-implant head, the keys are then interconnected with a rigid bond and detached from the mini-implant heads, and, after the patient has finished using the occlusion cast, the relative spatial position of the patients' maxilla and mandible is checked for conformity of the position of the recesses in the keys with the position of the mini-implant heads.
