METHOD FOR REGISTERING CIM PROVIDER IN CIM SYSTEM AND CIMOM

The embodiments of the present invention relate to a method for registering a CIM provider in a CIM system and a CIMOM. A method includes: a second CIMOM obtains parameters of a CIM provider from a first CIMOM using information about the name space to which a device to be configured belongs or information about the device to be configured; the second CIMOM matches the identifier information about the CIM provider in the parameters of the CIM provider according to information about the device to be configured or model information; and the second CIMOM obtains the CIM provider from the first CIMOM using the matched identifier information about the CIM provider, and registers the CIM provider. According to the embodiments of the present invention, problems of complicated operation and a likelihood of error occurrence caused when the CIM provider is registered to the CIMOM manually in the prior art can be avoided, thus improving the registration efficiency and reliability of the CIM provider.
