The invention relates to a method for mounting a hydrodynamic plain bearing (4) of a shaft (2), in particular of a magnetically coupled pump (1), wherein the hydrodynamic plain bearing (4) has a bearing bush (13) which is arranged between a bearing sleeve (6) and a bearing housing (16), comprising at least the following steps: A. coating of a clamping ring (14) on at least one of its surfaces with a friction-increasing coating (57), B. heating of the clamping ring (14) and applying to the bearing bush (13), with the result that a pre-assembled unit (58) is formed, and C. heating of the bearing housing (16), wherein the pre-assembled unit (58) is inserted into the bearing housing (16). A double press fit is advantageously thus provided, wherein a radial anti-rotation safeguard and an axial anti-displacement safeguard are achieved, without a pinning means as anti-rotation safeguard and axial clamping (for example, L-section ring) of the bearing bush (13) being necessary.
