METHOD FOR PRODUCING ETHANOL AND SOLVENTS FROM LIGNOCELLULOSIC BIOMASS INCLUDING THE RECIRCULATION OF A BUTYL WINE OBTAINED BY FERMENTING PENTOSES

The present invention relates to a method for producing alcohols and/or solvents from cellulosic or lignocellulosic biomass, including at least: a) a step of thermochemically pretreating a cellulosic or lignocellulosic biomass; b) optionally, a step of washing the pretreated substrate and adjusting the pH thereof; c) a step of enzymatically hydrolyzing the pretreated, optionally washed substrate, said hydrolysis using cellulolytic and/or hemicellulolytic enzymes producing a hydrolysate and a water-insoluble residue; d) a step of ethylically fermenting the hexoses, contained in the hydrolysate from step c), in ethanol by means of an alcohol-producing microorganism, and obtaining an ethylic wine; e) an extraction step including e1) separating and purifying the ethanol and/or solvents from step d), and e2) separating a solid cake containing the insoluble residue, and obtaining vinasses; and f) a step of butylically fermenting the pentoses, contained in the vinasses obtained in step e2), by means of a solvent-producing microorganism, and obtaining a butyl wine, wherein at least a portion of the butyl wine is recirculated upstream from at least one of the enzymatic hydrolysis and/or ethylic fermentation steps.
