BIOBASED CURABLE ACRYLIC COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF WOOD-DERIVED MATERIALS

The present invention relates to a curable aqueous composition that can be used for manufacturing chipboard, particleboard or plywood having low health impact and low environmental impact. More particularly, the composition of the invention comprises at least one acrylic (co)polymer which is a homopolymer or a copolymer of acrylic acid, manufactured from biomass, especially from glycerol derived from plant or animal matter, the acrylic acid being of technical grade. The invention also relates to a process for manufacturing wood-derived materials comprising at least one step of bringing a wood-based substrate into contact with this curable acrylic composition, and to the resulting materials.
