A fuel efficiency display device is applied to a navigation device, for example, and it includes a past average fuel efficiency calculating unit, a present average fuel efficiency calculating unit, an average fuel efficiency comparison unit, and a display unit. The past average fuel efficiency calculating unit calculates an average fuel efficiency from a start time of use of the fuel efficiency display device to a finish time of a last driving operation as a past average fuel efficiency. The present average fuel efficiency calculating unit calculates an average fuel efficiency at constant time intervals or at constant intervals of running distance as a present average fuel efficiency since a start time of a present driving operation. The average fuel efficiency comparison unit makes a comparison between the present average fuel efficiency and the past average fuel efficiency. The display unit displays a proportion of a number of times that the present average fuel efficiency is more efficient than the past average fuel efficiency to a total number of the comparisons between the present average fuel efficiency and the past average fuel efficiency.
