The underframe (12) has longitudinal struts (16, 18), plate supports (20, 22), and height-adjustable table-legs (24, 26) coupled to the supports. Drive units (28, 30) adjust the table-legs, and a control unit (32) controls the drive units. A strain gauge of a housing is connected with the control unit. The gauge delivers measuring signals to the control unit. A force transducer e.g. spring body, extends transverse to the struts. The strain gauge is arranged in a middle relative to a longitudinal extension of the force transducer. The force transducer is in band or rod shape. The spring body is designed as an arc-shaped pretensioned, metal band. The force transducer is designed as an elastically deformable angular sheet, which is arranged in the housing made of plastic. An independent claim is also included for an office table.
