PURPOSE: A nicotiamide derivative having an action of enhancing osteoblast differentiation is provided to induce osteogenesis with less toxicity.;CONSTITUTION: A nicotiamide derivative having an action of enhancing osteoblast differentiation or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is denoted by chemical formula 1. A composition for promoting bone formation contains the derivatives or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. The composition is used for preventing and treating bone diseases such as metabolic bone diseases or orthopedic bone diseases. The composition is used for artificial bone, artificial joint, bone fixture, bone substitute, bone filling material, or bond implant.
