The device has a deforming unit for deforming a deformable mirror (1), where geometry of the mirror is chosen such that a contour of the mirror is defined from a composite function of an optical aberration to be corrected. The unit applies a bending moment on edges of the mirror using a single actuator (21), where the mirror is concave or convex after deformation. The unit has an intermediate plate (22) with a contour identical to the contour of the mirror, and a ring (23) arranged above the plate. The mirror is arranged on the ring, where the mirror is made of glass and/or metal.
