PURPOSE: A door control device and method are provided to enable a user to close a door with small power and to prevent save accidents by reducing closing speed of a door.;CONSTITUTION: A door control device comprises a door switch(11), a door safety switch(12), an electromagnet(13), a permanent magnet(21), and a motor controller(22). The door switch is installed in the refrigerator body and turns a room lamp on or off according to opening and closing of a refrigerator door(20). The door safety switch selectively supplies electricity to the electromagnet, according to the opening and closing of the refrigerator door, in order to selectively convert polarity of the electromagnet. The magnetic force is generated between the permanent magnet and electromagnet. The motor controller controls the rotation direction, rotation angle, and rotation speed of the refrigerator door.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
