PURPOSE: A method of bonding a steel material using powered filler metal is provided to minimize thermal impact by bonding a steel material at a temperature of below the phase shift point of the steel material.;CONSTITUTION: A method of bonding a steel material using powered filler metal comprises next steps. Powder for filler is coated on one or both surfaces of the bonding surface of a first steel material and the bonding surface of a second steel material. The bonding surface of the first steel material is aligned to face the bonding surface of the second steel material. The first and second steel materials are compressed vertically to the bonding surfaces of the first and second steel materials. The powder for filler is compacted.
