A fast feature extraction methood for off-line handwritten character recognition

PURPOSE: A new feature extraction method is provided to reduce the operation quantity required for the character recognition and to recognize a character which increases the recognition rate of a character. CONSTITUTION: A feature extraction device receives an image from an optical lens(S110). If the binarization of an image is completed, the feature extraction device extracts a feature direction from an image(S210, S310). The feature extraction device extracts the length of the feature direction from the image(S410). The feature extraction device extracts feature which is necessary to recognize a character(S510).
