PURPOSE: A control apparatus and method for a non-mandrel pipe bending machine are provided to implement accurate bending in various shapes with a simple operation through program control using a microprocessor.;CONSTITUTION: A control apparatus for a non-mandrel pipe bending machine comprises an electric motor(210), an electronic brake(250), a rotary encoder(220), a control panel(240), and a microprocessor(230). The electric motor serves as a power source of a bending machine. The electronic brake compulsively stops the rotation of the electric motor. The rotary encoder is connected to the drive shaft of the electric motor and senses the rotation angle of the drive shaft. The control panel comprises an input unit(241) for setting a bending work and a display unit(245) for indicating the operating state. The microprocessor receives the input of an encoder, produces the bending angle of the current work, and controls the driving of the electric motor to make the current bending angle equal to a preset angle. The electronic brake stops the electric motor when the current bending angle corresponds to the preset angle.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
