PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing L1CAM-specific anti-L1CAM antibody or antigen binding fragment of the antibody is provided to induce apoptosis of gallbladder carcinoma. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for suppressing growth or metastasis of gallbladder carcinoma contains anti-L1CMA antibody which specifically binds to L1CMA(L1 cell adhesion molecule) or an antigen binding fragment thereof. The anti-L1CMA antibody or fragment recognizes membrane-binding form or membrane-separated form. The antibody is A10-A3 antibody, Ab4, humanized antibody, human antibody, or UJ127. The pharmaceutical composition contains an oligonucleotide which suppresses L1CAM expression. The oligonucleotide is an antisense oligonucleotide, siRNA, or shRNA.
