PURPOSE: An ultrasonic wave sound speed estimating apparatus and method are provided to offer an optimal supersonic image regardless of the property of an object.;CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic wave sound speed estimating apparatus(100) comprises a transmission module(102), a receiving module(104), an image generating module(106), and a sound speed determining module(108). The transmission module transmits an ultrasonic signal to an object. The receiving module receives the ultrasonic signal which is reflected from the object. The image generation module creates a plurality of ultrasonic imagers having respectively different sound speed by using the ultrasonic signal. The sound speed determining module determines optimal sound speed for scanning the object by using the plurality of ultrasonic imagers.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
