PURPOSE: A side member-stepped structure for a bus is provided to protect the passenger in a bus safely by preventing the folding of a vehicle which is collided at initial.;CONSTITUTION: A side member is extended along the length of a bus in the both sides of bottom of the bus. The side member is formed with a square pipe having a closed section. A side member reinforce member supports the bottom of a vehicle.
