PURPOSE: A method for providing a DRM service and a device thereof are provided to offer a compatible content with a DRM system, and decodes an encoded streaming data to play even when the DRM system is not installed in a user terminal.;CONSTITUTION: A transceiving unit(190) receives content protection information. The content protection information includes information on the DRM systems applied to the content which is provided by an adaptive streaming service. A DRM selecting unit(150) selects a specific DRM system from the DRM systems. A DRM agent(170) acquires a license with an encoding key which responds to the DRM system and decodes the content.
