PURPOSE: A positive electrode active material precursor is provided to have high tap density, to improve energy density and electric conductivity, and to have excellent charging/discharging properties and life time properties. CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode active material precursor comprises metal oxide in chemical formula 1: Ni_aCo_bM_cMn_d_3O_4. In chemical formula 1, M is transition metal element, 0.2=a=0.9. 0=b=0.5. 0=c=0.05. 0.1=d=0.9, and a+b+c+d=1. The metal oxide in chemical formula 1 is spherical powder shaped, has the average particle diameter of 5-15 micron, the tap density of 1.0-2.0 g/cc, and the surface area of 1.0-10.0 m^2/g.
