ESSENTIAL OIL FROM TRACHYSPERMUM AMMI HAVING SPERMICIDAL EFFECT AND USES THEREOF

PURPOSE: A composition containing essential oil isolated from seeds or fruits of Trachyspermum ammi is provided to ensure spermicidal effect and to manufacture contraceptive pills. CONSTITUTION: A composition with spermicidal effect contains essential oil isolated from seeds or fruits of Trachyspermum ammi plants as an active ingredient. The essential oil is isolated by hot water extraction. The concentration of the seeds or fruits is 100-500 ug/mL. The essential oil ingredient includes thymol, beta-cymene, eugenol, betta-pinene, oleic acid, verbenol, beta-terpineol, beta-myrcene, camphene, D-limone, ocimene, linalool, carveol, apioline, alpha-thujene, or alpha-selinene. A method for removing motility sperm comprises a step of contacting semen with the composition.
