PURPOSE: A method for monitoring an electronic device and electric power consumption and a monitoring system thereof are provided to easily identify an electronic device connected to an electrical network by using the consumed power data of an electronic device.;CONSTITUTION: An electronic device monitoring apparatus comprises an electric sensor(122), a device sensing unit(124), a power measuring unit(126), and a comparison unit(130). The electric sensor is connected to a home area network and senses a power consumption amount consumed through an electrical network. A device sensor determines the connection and separation of the electronic device with/from the electrical network by using sense information inputted from the electric sensor. The power measuring unit measures the entire power consumption amount of a connected electrical network by using the sense information which is connected to the electric sensor and is inputted. The comparison unit compares the change amount of power consumption inputted from the power measuring unit and electronic device consumable power information saved in a database.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
