PURPOSE: An apparatus for maintaining optimal efficiency of a boiler and a method thereof are provided to guarantee optimal efficiency of a boiler by detecting oxygen concentration for minimizing combustible loss of fuel and dry gas loss.;CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for maintaining optimal efficiency of a boiler comprises a boiler, a discharging unit, first and second loss measuring units, and a control unit. The boiler mixes fuel and air and burns. The discharging unit transfers the discharged gas after combustion of the fuel. The first and second loss measuring units are connected to the discharging unit. The first loss measuring unit measures combustible loss of a boiler through the gas. The second loss measuring unit measures dry gas loss of the boiler through the gas. The control unit receives the combustible loss and the dry gas loss from the first and second loss measuring units and detects oxygen concentration of the gas for minimizing the sum of the combustible loss and the loss of dry gas depending on the kinds of fuel. The controls unit stores boiler operation conditions with respect to the combustible loss, the dry gas loss, the oxygen concentration, and the supply of the air and operates the boiler according to the boiler operation conditions.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
