PURPOSE: A rheology modifier and a manufacturing method of hydrophobically modified polymer are provided to improve mid-shear and high shear rate viscosity.;CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a hydrophobically modified polymer comprises the following steps: forming a mixture of branched polyhydroxyalkylene oxide urethane and polyalkylene glycol by contacting polyisocyanate branching agent with water-soluble polyalkylene glycol stoichiometrically; forming a branched urethane polymer including hydroxyl-reactive end-group by contacting with bifunctional binder. and forming hydrophobically modified alkylene oxide urethane by contacting with the branched urethane polymer with a capping agent.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
