TECHNIQUES FOR INTERFERENCE MITIGATION IN MULTI-TIER COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A technology for reducing interference in a multiple layer communication system is provided to perform ranging from a terminal to a macro cell base station. CONSTITUTION: A macrocell BS(Base Station)(300) and a femtocell BS(Base Station)(310) communicate through backhaul(320). If a terminal(332) enters a femtocell(312), a terminal(330) receives a service from the femtocell BS. The terminal senses a signal(340) from the femtocell BS. The terminal performs ranging to the macrocell BS.
