TECHNIQUES FOR INTERFERENCE MITIGATION IN MULTI-TIER COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

There is provided a method and a terminal for mitigating interference for use in a wireless communication network including at least a femtocell base station capable of communicating with a plurality of terminals and a plurality of base stations wherein at least a part of the base station is a macro cell base station. The method includes detecting a femtocell base station of an interfering CSG femtocell that is not allowed to be connected by the terminal, and transmitting a request for interference mitigation by the terminal.
