PURPOSE: A smart phone virus detection method and an apparatus thereof using a cloud security architecture are provided to determine infection of a distrust file by virtually executing the distrust file of a terminal. CONSTITUTION: A controlling unit(520) divides a file into sub strings and calculates a signature of the file based on the sub strings. A transmitting unit(510) transmits the signature to a security server and receives first feedback corresponding to the signature. The first feedback includes virus infection information of the file. The controlling unit determines virus infection of the file based on the feedback. The transmitting unit transmits the file to the security server.
