PURPOSE: A variable valve lift apparatus is provided to improve the reliability of operation by stabilizing a behavior of a spring with preventing abrasion in the spring.;CONSTITUTION: A variable valve lift apparatus comprises outer and inner tappet bodies, a latching unit(30), a spring plate, a lost motion spring and a valve. The outer and inner tappet bodies comprise outer and inner tappet guide holes. The latching unit is installed inside the inner tappet body guide hole, and selectively inserted into the outer tappet body guide hole. The spring plate is coupled to the inner tappet body. The lost motion spring elastically supports the outer tappet body. The valve is coupled to the inner tappet body. The latching unit comprises a latching pin(32), a retainer(36), a spring guide unit(38), and a latching pin spring(44). The retainer is inserted into a movable hole(34) of the latching pin, and coupled to the inner tappet body. The spring guide unit is coupled to the retainer. The latching pin spring is coupled to the spring guide unit, and elastically supports the latching pin.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
