PURPOSE: An edge heater apparatus for preventing cracks in the edges of Mg strip is provided to reduce the shrinkage of strip by heating the edges of the strip with edge heaters installed on both ends of a strip winding roll.;CONSTITUTION: An edge heater apparatus for preventing cracks in the edges of Mg strip comprises heater bodies(110), a heating wire(120), and a switch unit. The heater bodies are respectively installed on both ends of a strip winding roll(60) and arranged to face the respective edges of strip. The heating bodies have a specific width to correspond to the amount of strip wound around the winding roll. The heating wire is arranged in the circumferential direction of the heater bodies and raises the temperature of the edges of strip by receiving external power.
