PURPOSE: A fuel gage device indicating fuel consumption by calculating excessive fuel amount is provided to prevent the rapid change of residual fuel quantity through adding an excessive fuel amount additional factor in case of the indication limit of a residual quantity detection sensor is detected and indicating the excessive fuel amount by linear reduction calculation by using fuel consumption signals until the residual amount under the limit value is detected.;CONSTITUTION: A fuel gage device(20) indicating fuel consumption by calculating excessive fuel amount comprises a residual quantity detection sensor(4), an engine ECU(22), a data storage unit(24), a display unit(6), a display driving unit(8), and a control unit(26). The engine ECU sanctions the amount of fuel consumption signal. The data storage unit saves indication limit values, excessive fuel amount additional parameter values, and indication fuel amount quantity conversion information of each vehicle.
