PURPOSE: A closed compressor and a refrigerator having the same are provided to install in a mechanical room restricted a space for enlarging receiving volume, and to improve cooling efficiency with reduced noise.;CONSTITUTION: A closed compressor(50) receives a lubricant, a compressing element, and an electronic element in a closed container. A refrigerant intake port of the compressing element has an intake muffler(13) comprising an intake hole and a passage part. The intake part is opened in the closed container and sucks refrigerant gas in the closed container. The passage part(13b) is communicated from the intake hole to an intake part of the compressing element.
