PURPOSE: A negative electrode for lithium ion is provided to retrain the high-temperature degradation of a secondary battery by uniformly forming a LiF layer on the surface of a negative electrode at initial time. CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode for lithium ion comprises a carbon material negative electrode active material layer, and LiF based coating layer formed on the carbon material negative electrode active material layer. The LiF based particle coating layer has the thickness of 0.05-1 micron. A lithium ion secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, electrolyte containing fluorine based lithium salt and organic solvent, and a separator. The LiF based particle is formed from the fluorine based lithium salt. The electrolyte additionally comprises alkaline metal salt.
