PORPHYRA LUCASII 500G WITH EXCELLENT OXIDATIVE STRESS RESISTANCE OR ANTIOXIDATIVE ACTIVITY BY RADIATION

PURPOSE: A method for producing Porphyra lucasii 500G with excellent antioxidative activity and resistance to an oxidative environment is provided to culture Porphyra lucasii in a polluted environment and to obtain an antioxidative extract.;CONSTITUTION: Porphyra lucasii 500G(KCTC 11800BP) with antioxidative activity or resistance to an oxidative environment is prepared by irradiating Porphyra lucasii with radiation. The resistance of Porphyra lucasii by oxidative environment(H_2O_2) is more than two times higher than the Porphyra lucasii which is cultivated without radiation. The radiation includes gamma ray, electron beam, or X-ray. A method for producing Porphyra lucasii comprises: a step of culturing Porphyra lucasii in a medium; and a step of seleting Porphyra lucasii with superior antioxidation and resistance to oxidative environment. The medium contains 1L of sterilized seawater, 3.72g of C_10H_140_6N_2Na_2,2H_20(NA_2EDTA), 0.28g of FeSO_4,7H_2O, 10.74g of Na_2HPO_4,12H_2O, 42.5g of NaNO_3, 0.019197g of MnCl_2,7H_2O, and 1mg of Vitamin B12(yanocobalamin).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
