PURPOSE: An image providing device and a method thereof are provided to effectively increase picture quality based on histogram equalization.;CONSTITUTION: A histogram generating unit(110) generates a histogram about an input image. A histogram correcting unit(120) increases and decreases a histogram value of the input image. A pixel conversion function producing unit(140) produces a pixel conversion function by equalizing the histogram corrected by the histogram correcting unit. An output image generating unit(145) generates an output image from an input image based on the pixel conversion function. The pixel conversion function producing unit minimizes a power consumption amount of a display device which outputs the output image based on the pixel conversion function.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
