PURPOSE: A system and a method for changing a roll of a rolling mill by a robot is provided to increase the productivity of wire rods, and to reduce a time for replacing the roll while a roll change tool exactly inserts an inert pin inside a shaft.;CONSTITUTION: A system and a method for changing a roll of a rolling mill by a robot comprises a robot manipulator of 6 degrees of freedom(110), a roll change tool(120), a trolley(130), and a controller. The roll change tool is installed in an end effector of the robot manipulator. The roll change tool replaces the roll and a sleeve(220). The robot manipulator is attached to an upper part of a trolley. The controller controls the robot manipulator, the roll change tool, and the buggy. Controller stores position data of shafts(230), and moves the trolley to the position where the roll and the sleeve are replaced.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
