PURPOSE: An induction motor, a compressor, and a refrigerating cycle apparatus are provided to reduce an iron loss by forming a rotor core whose width is narrower than the width of a stator core.;CONSTITUTION: A stator(12) includes a ring-shaped iron core of s stator(12a) and a stator coil(14) which is inserted into a stator slot(17). The iron core of the stator includes a ring-shaped core back(21). A rotor(11) includes an iron core(11a) of the rotor, an aluminum bar(30), and a squirrel cage second conductor. An axial hole(19) is formed in the center of the iron core of the rotor. The squirrel cage second conductor comprises a pair of end rings formed on both sides of a core laminate direction.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
