PURPOSE: A surface modified metal nanoparticle and the use are provided to facilitate in vivo imaging and have surface plasmon in visible region.;CONSTITUTION: A surface modified metal nanoparticle includes a surface modifier which is introduced on metal particle surface. The particle diameter is 1-100 nanometers. The surface modified material is one or more which are selected from aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acid, alkyl group having 1-50 carbons, straight-chain or branched alcohol having 1-10 carbons, pyrimidine based base, and purine based base. The metal particle is selected from gold, silver, magnesium oxide, iron, platinum, titanium, alumina and zirconia. The surface modified material is introduced to metal surface through a functional group. The functional group is selected from thiol, carboxyl group, amine group, aldehyde, ketone, peroxide, alkene having 3-500 carbons, halogenation alkyl group, ester, ether group, epoxide group, nitryl group, and carbonyl group.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
