PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for avoiding downlink interference from a base station in a mobile communication system is provided to conveniently improve communication performance in the mobile communication system using a software work and without adding hardware.;CONSTITUTION: When Interference in a first three symbols of a control area is bigger than a specific threshold value, an interference target base station is operated in a TTG(Transmit/receive Transition Gap) mode(620,630).The interference target base station measures the interference of an interference base station in the first three symbols of a pseudo control area during measurement interval(645).
