PURPOSE: A settop box and an application executing method thereof are provided to control access to a specific application by execution of the application and to setup an execution password in a specific application which a user frequently uses. CONSTITUTION: In case a specific application corresponding to an execution command is registered in an application execution management list, a control unit outputs an execution code input window through a display device(S540,S550). In case an accurate execution command is inputted through a receiving unit executes an execution file of the application in an application storage unit(S560,S570).
