PURPOSE: A constrained metal flange and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce deformation and cracks when welding a high-expansion brittle material to a low-expansion brittle material.;CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a flanged metal article(10) comprises the steps of: spreading a first brazing compound(18) on a first portion(16) of a metal article(14), winding the first portion of the metal articles with a predetermined length of constrained metal member(20), and heating the assembly of the metal article, the constrained metal member, and the first brazing compound cover the solidus temperature of the first brazing compound to obtain a flanged metal article, wherein the thermal expansion coefficient of the metal article is greater than that of the constrained metal member.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
