PURPOSE: A water hammer arrester is provided to sufficiently obtain a reciprocating stroke range of a piston and an absorption range of a compressed gas with a short water arrester because the piston is inserted into a cylinder.;CONSTITUTION: A water hammer arrester comprises a housing(10), a circular pipe(50), and a packing(30). The circular pipe is installed in the inside of the housing. A top end part of the circular pipe is spaced from an inner closed side(12) of the housing at a predetermined distance. The outer circumference of the lower part of the circular pipe is sealed with an opening(11). The packing is installed in the inside or the outside of the circular pipe.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
