DUAL SPINDLE MACHINING TOOL AND A LOADING AND UNLOADING PROCESS, CAPABLE OF SIMPLIFYING A DUAL SPINDLE LATHE AND OBTAINING A COMPACT STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: A dual spindle machining tool and a loading and unloading process are provided to selectively shield one or two work-piece spindles by a chip protecting unit at the same time.;CONSTITUTION: A machining tool comprises a machine frame, a tool holder(12), a transferring device(18), and a chip protecting unit(20). The machine frame comprises two work-piece spindles(8,8'). The tool holder comprises tools(13). The transferring device transfers work-pieces. The chip protecting unit comprises two baffle plates(25,25'). The tool holder is arranged to be moved in the machine frame. The work-pieces are machined by turns with tools in the inside of the two work-piece spindles so that other work-spindles are loaded or unloaded. Each work-piece is moved from working positions(17,17') to loading positions(19,19'). The baffle plates are moved to standby positions from a domain between the working positions and loading positions for loading and unloading of the two work-piece spindles.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
