PURPOSE: A falling detecting method using image processing and an image processing device thereof are provided to process an image transmitted through a web camera, thereby determining whether a patient falls. CONSTITUTION: An image processing device sets a security area in a background image(S2). The image processing device distinguishes a patient from a background(S3). The image processing device simplifies an irregular boundary between the patient and the background(S4). The image processing device determines whether the patient gets hurt from a fall by distinguishing a location and motion of the patient(S5).
