PURPOSE: A driving safety apparatus is provided to guide the safety driving by using a driving load index.;CONSTITUTION: A driving safety apparatus comprises a digital map DB(10), a GSP module(20), a road type detection module(30), a travel information detection module(40), a driving load index detection module(50), a calculation module(60), and an alarm module(70). The digital map DB saves the location information of roads and buildings. The GPS module detects the position information of a vehicle while driving. The road type detection module detects the type of a road where a vehicle driving. The driving load index detection module detects the driving load index based on driving information. The calculation module accumulates and calculates the driving load index detection module.
