PURPOSE: An air conditioner and control method thereof are provided to accurately supply refrigerant to a refrigerant cycle by determining the number of supplying the refrigerant in a tank to the refrigerant cycle.;CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner(1) comprises a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an expansion unit, an indoor heat exchanger, a storage tank(170), a inflow tank(161), first and second inflow valves. The storage tank holds refrigerant. The inflow tank is placed in the upper part of the storage tank, and holds the refrigerant which will be supplied to the storage tank.
