PURPOSE: A filter type trapping agent for trapping volatile compounds and a method for trapping the volatile compounds are provided to reduce the generation amount of wasted filters by simultaneously trapping the volatile compounds. CONSTITUTION: Volatile compounds are generated from a nuclear fuel fabrication process or an incineration process. The generated volatile compounds are trapped using a trapping agent. The volatile compounds include 20 to 40 weight% of silica, 5 to 15 weight% of alumina, 20 to 35 weight% of a calcium oxide, 10 to 30 weight% of a magnesium oxide, 1 to 3 weight% of a chromium oxide, and 0.5 to 5 weight% of a vanadium oxide. The trapping agent is in a ceramic bubble shape, a porous sphere shape, or a cylindrical shape.
