PURPOSE: A system and a method for sensing gas leaks are provided to enable a manager to catch and repair gas leaks by analyzing stored images.;CONSTITUTION: A system(100) for sensing gas leaks comprises a plurality of cameras(110), a composite image combining unit(120), a screen output unit(130), and a control unit(150). The cameras comprise visible cameras(112) and infrared cameras(114), which take images of a monitored area. The composite image combining unit combines visible images taken by the visible cameras with infrared images taken by the infrared cameras. The composite image combining unit extracts a gas leak point when the temperature value of specific gas stored in a DB is sensed from the combined infrared images. The control unit records visible and infrared images and stores the images in a memory when the temperature value of specific gas stored in the DB is sensed.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
