PURPOSE: A user input device, a method for recognizing user finger prints, and a method for recognizing user touches are provided to efficiently control UI by using the combination of fingers. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(801) displays the result of an operation or a reaction and a user input data. A sensor grid panel(804) composed of sensors which are arranged in grid shape by the size of a screen recognizes the touched finger location. A memory(803) stores a location data which is received from the sensor grid panel. A controller(802) reads an input pattern corresponding to an operation mode which is identified from the location data from the memory and performs a specific operation to the display part.
